Packaging Line Mechanic at JIFFY mixes - Full-time / Part-time

Manpower, Inc. of SE Michigan is currently seeking multiple packaging line mechanics to join our client - "JIFFY" mixes - in Chelsea, MI. These are full-time positions offering a competitive pay rate and the opportunity to work at one of Washtenaw County's premier manufacturing facilities. Call us today for immediate consideration! Job duties include, but are not limited to: * Maintaining assigned packaging line machinery throughout the plant including conveyors, guards, guide rails, checkweighers, boxmakers, fillers, top sealers, casepackers, etc. to assure maximum efficiency. * Learning the operation of all packaging equipment and demonstrating the capability to maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed. * Performing preventative maintenance on packaging line machinery, equipment and parts as needed or assigned by leader. * Assisting packaging line operators during times of need. * Ensuring packaging line is set up for proper operation (code dates on cartons, hot melt glue units are on, etc.). * Assisting in the rebuilding of parts and equipment as time permits. * Assisting in the installation of new equipment as needed. * Assisting maintenance leader in determining planned maintenance for lines. * Communicating with line mechanics at shift changes. * Assisting in training line operators in operation of line functions. Preferred qualifications: * A high school diploma or GED is required; additional education or skilled trades certification a plus. * Prior mechanical experience is required; electrical and PLC experience preferred. * Knowledge of packaging equipment, machinery, parts, and or maintenance a plus. * Ability to learn and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as well as safety standards and procedures. * Ability to perform physically demanding work, such as reaching, standing, walking, pushing, heavy lifting, grasping, twisting, and bending. * Self-motivated and the ability to work without constant supervision/direction. * Great communication skills, positive attitude, team player, and work well with others. * Highly reliable with a good attendance record. * Ability to work in an environment that is noisy, dusty from flour/mix, and hot/humid (during summer months).
