We develop analytic information systems for physicians and hospitals and pharmaceutical manufacturers that extract and present data employing near real time analytics. We are looking for a business analyst with strong requirements definition and communication skills to join the Product Management team.  The Product Management team is responsible for contributing to and developing a product roadmap aimed at both strategic and tactical business and market initiatives.  The candidate will work across the organization; with development, quality assurance, client services, product marketing, and data management.

Our ideal candidate will have experience designing clinical and/or financial healthcare products.  Knowledge of healthcare risk models, and understanding of the provider and health insurance relationship is ideal, but not required.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Develop and communicate product roadmap 

    • Prioritize product needs across multiple stakeholders (including strategic and tactical)

    • Develop new concepts throughout the process of ideation, business case development, product management, and software development

    • Communicate near term roadmap to stakeholders for review and input

    • Develop a one year proposed roadmap including rationale for product direction

    • Serve as the product advocate internally and externally

    • Analyze product opportunities and develop supporting business cases when needed

    • Support business development, revenue generation, and increased profitability

    • Become knowledgeable on the competitive landscape 

  • Gather business requirements

    • Conduct requirements gathering activities (e.g., meetings, workshops, JAD sessions)


    • Develop business context diagrams (e.g., business data flows, process flows) to analyze/confirm the definition of project requirements


    • Define desired future state requirements based on input from all applicable stakeholders


    • Identify the business impact of system/application changes

  • Communicate business requirements 

    • Partner with Engineering on development planning and implementation

    • Communicate business requirements to User Experience team to enable the usable design meeting requirements and end user expectations

    • Ensure that project requirements are clearly and comprehensively documented, understood and support traceability

    • Communicate ongoing updates to all stakeholders to ensure understanding of and alignment with project status/changes

    • Perform requirement reviews with all stakeholders

    • Identify capability gaps between current state and desired state (e.g., system capacity, emerging technologies)

  • Support testing

    • Identify and/or establish appropriate testing metrics/targets to validate that business requirements are being met (e.g., performance metrics, process deliverables, traceability, business value)

    • Support engineering with bug triage, requirement clarification and enhancement request analysis

    • Make pragmatic decisions on scope changes during the project lifecycle and communicate changes to stakeholders

    • Translate problems/issues identified during the testing/piloting process, and engage the appropriate stakeholders (e.g., business, IT) to help identify impact and potential solutions

  • Drive product adoption and deployment

    • Work closely with marketing to develop marketing collateral to support sales

    • Ensure training and implementation are educated on new product features

    • Serve as a subject matter expert to assist client implementation to maximize product benefits

    • Participate in client and prospect visits as a subject matter expert

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Knowledgeable in technology

  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering or related field

  • Ability to work creatively and flexibly, both independently and as part of a team

  • Attention to fine details and work processes

  • Desire and ability to learn new skills, systems and processes

  • Excellent organizational, and written and oral communications skills

  • 2-5+ years of experience with software products

Preferred Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of software marketing/product management experience

  • 3-5+ years of healthcare software experience

  • Experience working in the healthcare vertical as part of a consulting company

  • Knowledge of claims processing and risk models
