Overview:
A top level contributor with responsibility for overseeing the successful and complete implementation of MST's Disaster Recovery Program and Macy's Business Continuity program for all assigned applications, services and Business Units. Will guide owners of assigned applications through and annual Application Impact Assessment, Strategy Review, Plan Development, and Testing cycle in accordance with MST's Disaster Recovery Framework.
Key Accountability:
- Manage annual Application Impact Assessments for assigned applications.
- Manage the bi-annual Business Impact Analysis for assigned Business Units.
- Manage the compliance exception process to track and report gaps, risks, compensating controls, and remediation strategies.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Oversee the validation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans through testing and the creation of artifacts that evidence the testing.
- Participate in delivery of departmental awareness and training sessions for the enterprise.
- Manage the development of new business continuity tools and processes.
- Participate in EOC Exercises.
Decision Making:
- Lead role in advising assigned application and plan owners on the correct documentation of impacts and dependencies during the annual assessment process.
- Evaluating the appropriateness of strategies to satisfy the documented application, service, and Business Unit recovery objectives. Guiding plan owners in the completion of compliance exception forms to document risks, compensating controls, and remediation strategies.
- Coordinate and/or observe Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Exercises.
- Participate in the development of SharePoint, InfoPath, Access tools for enhancing the DR/BC Program.
Skills Summary:
- Minimum of 10 years of Business Continuity Management Experience.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex integrated Disaster Recovery Exercises.
- Certified Business Continuity Professional.
- Experience in the following areas:
Excel - Advanced
Word - Intermediate
Visio - Advanced
MS-Project - Intermediate
Powerpoint - Advanced
InfoPath - Advanced - A general knowledge of retail systems and understanding of criticality and impact to operations
- A general knowledge of the retail environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT preferred and 8-10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification preferred in Certified or Master Business Continuity Professional
