Positions in this function are responsible for checking
in, scheduling appointments, answering billing questions and managing
patient medical records for a clinic. Roles may vary based on the size
of the clinic(s).

In
the Financial Counselor role you will be capturing all admits from the
previous day and verifying eligibility. You will be reviewing all admits
for authorization status and take appropriate measures to secure
authorizations when needed. Release all bill holds. Greet walk in
patients with courtesy and attempt to provide assistance or direction
when the situation calls for it. Document everything in account notes.
Ability to screen patients for Hospital, Government and Private
programs. Review all insurance coding for validity and revise as needed.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 
  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • 3+ years of Healthcare experience.

  • Previous Hospital experience.

  • Familiarity with Medi-cal TAR and CCS processes.

  • Insurance knowledge in Southern California market, to include both Government and Commercial Payers.

  • Current proficiency with Microsoft Office
    Suites: Excel (data sorting and
    filtering); Word (creating documentation).

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Meditech.

  • Bilingual fluency with English and Spanish or English and Armenian.
