The Senior Director, Provider Data Management Services will report into the Optum Cloud Foundational Portfolio Executive and will lead the Provider Data Capability Initiative and its emergence into a formal capability. The initiative is focused on leveraging UHG scale and technology advances to evolve to a new provider data management function and technology platform, supporting existing UHG business and expanding our commercial opportunities. Position will lead a staff of 19 FTEs focused on Provider Data Management, including a new big data analytics function.

Required Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, Finance or related field or 10+ years of equivalent experience


• 10+ years experience in health care services, with specific experience in the provider data services market a plus


• Exposure to cross functional business and technology processes in a matrixed environment within the healthcare industry


• Proven ability to influence course of action when others are directly accountable for outcome


• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely


• Proven ability to think strategically and to translate strategic directives into tactical initiatives


• Ability to understand the underlying business model and question / challenge others to think through the problems, improvement opportunities, solutions, and plans


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Ability and willingness to travel as required (15-20%)

Preferred Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of agile development methodology, health care processes and operations


• Experience with Hadoop and related technologies
