The Energy Specialist is responsible for analyzing current energy usage and developing a corporate energy management plan in order to provide proper environmental conditions with cost effective utilization. The Energy Specialist will be responsible for the company’s HVAC control and energy tracking systems in order to achieve this purpose. Research alternative/renewable energy technologies and determine their feasibility and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities


1. Budget Utilities for all Stores and Corporate Office.
2. Establish good working knowledge of all functions required for timely completion of budgets assigned.
3. Work with all stores and departments within Gordmans to reduce energy usage.
4. Review energy purchase agreements and make recommendations regarding selection.
5. Review all Energy reports.
6. Develops and implements practices and procedures designed to reduce energy consumption and/or improve efficiency of usage
7. Work with EMS Company to suggest equipment, products, and methods to save energy.
8. Review individual energy usage suggesting ways to reduce energy in each individual location.
9. Develop long rang plans for implementing innovations.
10. Pursue an aggressive program to reduce company costs for energy.
11. Provide regular reports as to the overall effectiveness of the energy management program.
12. Work with management on ways to reduce energy consumption.
13. Establish good working knowledge of all functions required for timely completion of projects assigned.
14. Liaison with the Store Manager and Operations Manager and their teams to provide optimum facility comfort while reducing energy consumption levels.
15. Work with all stores and departments within Gordmans to reduce energy usage.
16. Review energy purchase agreements and make recommendations regarding selection.

Education and Qualifications


1. 4 year degree in energy management strongly preferred.
2. 2 or more years of experience in the energy management, mechanical systems design, construction and/or maintenance, or closely related field preferred.
3. Basic knowledge of construction, HVAC and building methods required.
4. Basic understanding and use of AutoCAD System strongly preferred.
