Field Marketing Strategist - San Jose
Description

The Field Marketing Strategist is responsible for development and implementation of a local marketing strategy focused on driving sales and building brand awareness through local restaurant education, marketing training and support, and execution of events and partnerships in the community. The Field MS will work directly with Operations Field Leaders, local restaurant teams, the US-based marketing team, and additional support departments to build towards our vision of changing the way people think about and eat fast food.

Responsibilities
In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Restaurant Support and Sales Building Strategy
•Building and maintaining a marketing culture in local restaurants through support and education for restaurant managers and their teams, presentations at market meetings, and relationship building with Operations teams, including one-on-one time with field leaders and restaurant managers.
•Developing and delivering marketing training for local restaurant teams and field leaders
•Developing and executing market-wide promotions and sales-driving programs
•Supporting national promotions and rollout campaigns
•Aligning efforts with regional team members from other departments including finance, IT, facilities, operations, recruitment, and training

Developing and Implementing Marketing Strategy
•Writing and developing a local marketing strategy as an extension of the global marketing platform, inclusive of budget and program calendar
•Working closely with the US-based marketing team to communicate updates and changes to the local strategy and programming through various channels, such as social media, public relations, mobile, direct, advertising, research, design, and production team members
•Executing events, programs, and partnerships included in the local marketing strategy
•Working closely with the Field Leadership and Marketing Strategist teams to develop best practices and turn-key strategies
•Evaluating the effectiveness of marketing programs and contributing to process improvement
•Hiring and overseeing Student Brand Managers to support the local and national strategy on targeted local campuses

The ideal candidate will:

•Have 3-5 years marketing experience or relevant equivalent
•Possess a B.A./B.S. in Marketing or a related field; or an equivalent in education and experience
•Have flexibility to travel moderately both regionally and nationally
•Have the ability to interpret high-level marketing strategy, as well as the design, technical, financial, and operational requirements of marketing programs
•Possess a strong ability to manage multiple demands and responsibilities and adapt quickly and effectively to changing needs and expectations
•Have demonstrated ability in maintaining focus on both short- and long-term priorities and goals
•Be able to develop creative programs and solutions
•Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Have a strong desire to work as part of a team and demonstrate ability to elevate and develop others by training, coaching, and mentoring team members
•Be able to write RFPs, negotiate contracts, track project costs, and process invoices
•Maintain current knowledge of trends in internet technology, consumer marketing, Food with Integrity, and the restaurant industry
•Have a strong knowledge of, and connections in, the local market with a deep understanding of demographics and what makes that market tick
•Live in the key market with the ability to work independently and remotely both in the field and from a home office
