POSITION SUMMARY
This is a non-supervisory position that specializes in the ordering and preparation of fresh foodstuffs, which vary in kind and amount per store and per season. The Group Leader Perishables provides well-stocked, clean and safe Perishable Departments for Save-A-Lot customers. Perishable products include, but are not limited to fresh meat, fresh produce (fruits and vegetables), smoked meat, frozen meat, and/or dairy products.

KEY FUNCTIONS
  • (25%) Responsible for ordering on a timely schedule and maintaining proper inventory levels established by Save-A-Lot.
  • (20%) Cut and/or package authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to Save-A-Lot policies and procedures. Ensure that displays and case signs are update appropriately and maintain proper date rotation for dated products, and for undated products per Save-A-Lot policy for them.
  • (20%) Trim and package authorized Fresh Produce according to company guidelines and policies. Properly display and back-stock produce according to company guidelines and policy.
  • (20%) Ensure adherence to company policies concerning sanitation and safety in regards to perishables.
  • (15%) Fill and maintain cases of smoked meats and frozen foods according to Store Manager’s instructions.


REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. EDUCATION/TRAINING
REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent

2. EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED: previous grocery experience

REPORTS TO: Store Manager
