Distribution Operations Intern

General Summary

This position will allow you to experience many facets of this dynamic field by applying your knowledge in real life situations at our distribution facility. Responsibilities

1. Gain broad exposure to our supply chain network and leadership team through daily interactions with Gordmans distribution leaders
2. Receive both leadership and technical focused training to enhance your skillset
3. Assist with daily functions of a Department Leader such as maintaining departmental performance goals, reviewing productivity reports, driving a safe work environment, maintaining attendance records, and ensuring quality of product being processed
4. Work with a team to evaluate and drive existing operational methods
5. Champion continuous improvement through a special project assignment
6. Establish and maintain an open path of communication with leaders and associates
7. Have the opportunity to lead and develop a Gordmans team
8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
9. Must be at work on a regular and predictable basis or as scheduled.

Education and Qualifications

1. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals at all levels in the company and with various business contacts outside of the company
2. Problem-solving skills, assertiveness and strong initiative
3. Team-oriented thinking with enthusiasm for continuous learning
4. Strong interest in process improvement
5. Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility
6. 0-2 years Supply Chain/Retail experience
7. Senior class standing or entering senior year; G.P.A of 3.0 or higher
8. Participation in school or extracurricular activities and experience in leadership roles
