The Job

SUMMMARY: As an Operations Analyst, the subject matter expert for several business systems, e.g. PROLink, KRONOS Workforce Scheduler, Custom Mail Flow.?The Operations Analyst works collaboratively with the operations team, operating center support staff and management to ensure critical business processes are complied with, such as Full-Service Intelligent Mail Barcode and Data Stores/Mail Exchange,?for the sole purpose of increasing productivity and mitigating expenses. This entails providing essential business intelligence and Mail Flow analysis for optimizing labor and postal discounts, and implementing company initiatives which are aligned with business functions and corporate strategies.The decisions or recommendations made by this position affects company data and are directly attributable to the continued success of the Pitney Bowes Presort Services' operating center.This position is the focal point of data capture for mortgage and leased property expenses, utilities, use tax filings, personal property tax filings, cash receipt payments from the United States Postal Service, depending on the size and the needs of the operating center and supports those systems, e.g. PROLink, KRONOS Workforce Scheduler, Custom Mail Flow as necessary. Responsible for daily download via the Internet CAPS system (Centralized Automated Processing Systems).
  • Ensures Operations completes required USPS and internal reports, job costing reports and application of all USPS postal regulations.? Assures clear and concise communication of pertinent information to operating center management.
  • Conducts Mail Flow Analysis and makes productivity recommendations based on assessments of volumes and type of mail received; ensures maximization of productivity through timely and efficient workflow of the mail in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • Utilizes KRONOS Workforce Scheduler to generate employee schedules; monitor and adjust staffing levels as needed; produce key metrics; ensure data integrity and assist with related onboarding/staffing processes when necessary.
  • Understand vendor temporary labor management systems and provides temp labor reporting and reconciliation as needed.
  • Achieves a working knowledge of the Mail Preparation Total Quality Management ( MPTQM) program. Assures quality of all mail received from receipt of the mail, through processing and final presentation of the mail to the USPS, and understands how the various facets of the operation are affected by this program.
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Qualification
    • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 5 years in the mail industry required.
    • Operations, customer service, product support or similar experience within the Presort/Mail industry required.
    • Ability to read/ understand USPS rules and regulations for presort mail practices and business periodicals and understand the effects of changes on Presort Services' business/operations. Previous labor scheduling/daily staffing based on mail volumes in the Presort/Mail Industry, or similar workforce experience required.
    • Previous experience with Kronos Workforce Scheduler 6.1 and/or labor scheduling in a production environment a plus.
    • Ability to interpret and report statistical data.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) to perform spreadsheet functions such as exporting and importing data and ensuring data integrity
    • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; basic mathematical skills; problem resolution and analytical skills.
    • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers.? The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or lift and/or move maximum of 10 lbs with or without accommodation.
    • Willingness to submit to a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check required
