Key Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and direct PPG’s Refinish sign & amusement (Mathews Paint Company, MPC) business strategy and delivery in the US , Canada and select international markets to achieve growth and profitability objectives.
  1. Strategic Planning – Anticipate market trends, competitor actions, and Refinish and cross SBU business objectives to develop and implement a business plan which maximizes short-term and long-term growth & profitability.
  2. PPG Policy Leadership -Ensure all business activities conform to PPG’s business conduct policies to preserve PPG’s image as a company with high professional and ethical standards and ensure that EHS, EEO and quality objectives are met.
  3. Supply Chain Management – Support a safe, productive, cost efficient and continuously improving small- batch facility in meeting internal and external customer requirements.
  4. Sales Growth - Develop and implement the short and long term sales and distribution strategy (pricing strategies, margins, brand management and customer considerations) to meet or exceed growth, profit and expense control targets; take ownership of the strategy and provide vision and clarity of execution with the Refinish Commercial sales team.
  5. Business Development – Develop strategies to grow existing and seek new accounts; identify opportunities for MPC product application into new markets.
  6. Organization Development – Organize, select, train & develop the MPC team to ensure organization capability and the business strategy; utilize Performance & Learning Plan (P&LP) processes to ensure continuous upgrade in ability, breadth of career tracks and sound succession management.
  7. Business/ Matrix Alignment – Jointly develop and agree with technical, supply chain, manufacturing, marketing and human resources functional plans to support and ensure Refinish and cross-SBU initiatives.
  8. Industry Image/Presence - Enhance PPG’s image and industry recognition through appropriate industry functions, trade shows, etc.; given the relationship nature of the business, cultivate/network relationships and foster new business opportunities.


Qualifications

Experience and Education

Requires:
· Business degree
· Minimum 8 years progressive managerial responsibility and strategic plan implementation
· Ability to balance priorities, delegate and lead diverse and remote teams
· in-depth knowledge of sign & amusement industry, products, programs, and services
· ability to manage effectively and leverage synergies in a matrix environment
