About this job

SUMMARY:
Maintains correspondence or other classified or indexed records arranged systematically in a file according to an established system.  Follow general instructions, inserts and removes material upon request.  May perform related routine clerical duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
High School degree or equivalent preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
No previous work experience is necessary, but must show willingness to learn.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Purges files
  • Sort and file all incoming correspondence according to an established filing system
  • Place indexing notations on file folders
  • Data entry
  • Be able to perform other duties as assigned
  • Computer terminal and personal computers (spreadsheets and word processing)
  • Scan and organize files

REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR KNOWLEDGE UPON QUALIFICATION IN POSITION:

  • Organizational skills
  • Computer skills
  • Office equipment
  • Time management
  • Communication skills
  • Alphabetize & numerical numbering filing system
  • Math skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • data entry
  • 80% of the time sitting
  • Some bending/stooping
  • Lifting less than 35lbs
  • Climate controlled environment
