Job Description

PPG has immediate openings for Casual Production Employees for our East Point, GA facility. This position includes working in a coatings plant performing various jobs to support the production of coatings products.

Casual employees work full-time hours, for a temporary period of time. Starting pay for Casual Production Employees is $11.67, with potential to progress into a Full-Time position, with benefits and earning up to $13.50-20/hour, depending on the position.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all plant Environmental, Health & Safety rules & procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping in work areas.
  • Ensure communication of problems / issues to supervision, maintenance, and relieving shift.
  • Complete required process documentation including batch tickets, etc.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as fork trucks, tank movers, worksavers, hydroscales, drum hoists, and drum handlers.
  • Retrieve & load pre-assembled raw materials & liquids, as specified on the batch ticket, into mixing equipment or letdown tanks.
  • Perform required process checks on batches as specified on the batch ticket.
  • May manage hazardous waste as part of daily activities.

This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years production manufacturing experience.
  • Able to work any shift and overtime, including some weekends.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
