In this exciting role as a Program Director, IT Infrastructure Compliance, you will provide leadership, guidance and accountability and for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff.  You will work with bleeding edge technologies and large organizations of highly developed IT professionals to drive and manage high-quality execution and operational excellence, delivering IT solutions which meet business needs, maximize customer experience, growth and retention.  Your strategic vision, tactical excellence and consultative skills will enable others to resolve business problems that affect multiple functions or disciplines, and ultimately, the lives of millions.


 


In this highly visible role, you will oversee the Optum Technology Infrastructure Essential Compliance Program team throughout the program   ensuring compliance at entities UnitedHealth Group acquires.  This is a very hands-on roll where you will roll up your sleeves and "make it happen."



This position is located in our Plymouth, MN offices and requires up to 25 - 35% travel. 


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Serve as subject matter expert to internal stakeholders on specific IT topics/issues - collaborate with internal leaders and external business partners to gain understanding of their business needs and adapt departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges

  • Lead change and innovation - pursue opportunities to adopt new technologies and drive adoption to enhance business outcomes  - drive and mange high-quality execution across organizational lines

  • Communicate with Impact - influence and negotiate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve win-win solutions that advance organizational goals

  • Provide leadership, guidance, team direction, problem resolution and accountability for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff - leverage diversity and inclusion to bring in the right talent, drive employee engagement and foster teamwork and collaboration

  • Manage and ensure compliance with IT structures/processes/technologies

  • Grow and maintain knowledge of and leverage IT industry/marketplace technologies and trends

  • Apply financial knowledge to influence forecasting and financial planning activities

  • Participate in vendor contract negotiations to ensure optimal service delivery and cost controls (e.g., SLAs, vendor discounts) and monitor/manage vendor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms/conditions and deliverables

  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior by complying with applicable laws, regulations and policies and requiring the same from others

  • Influence, establish, maintain, drive the execution and maintain a portfolio of program-level agreements and program plans that represent key milestones and key dependencies of the Essential Compliance Program

  • Act as primary escalation point for all compliance program-level issues

  • Act as primary Optum Technology Infrastructure point of contact and interface for Segment Integration Lead, Optum Technology Infrastructure Executive Sponsor (SVP, VP), and Optum Technology Infrastructure functional Project Leaders throughout compliance programs

  • Understand and represent the compliance needs of the Optum Technology Infrastructure Senior management and their functional teams

  • Manage a team of project managers that will manage project budgets in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, creating a portfolio of projects that will likely be in the $M

  • Manage up to 8 team members and functional project managers for compliance programs

Requirements

Required Qualifications:




  • 5+ years of Senior Program Management experience in a large enterprise environment

  • 8+ years Project Management experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of IT infrastructure technology

  • A minimum of 5 years of compliance experience

  • A minimum of 1 - 2 years of demonstrated success in relationship management

  • A minimum of $500K program budget management experience

  • Senior management (CxO, SVP, VP) interface and presentation experience

  • Proficiency in Excel, Project and PowerPoint

  • Managed at least 5 team members
