We are seeking an attorney to join our corporate legal team to support the corporate governance and administration of UnitedHealth Group's subsidiaries. This attorney will be expected to work in a team-oriented, results-driven practice group that has frequent interaction with company senior leaders, outside counsel and government agencies regarding complex legal matters that impact UnitedHealth Group. Due to the nature of the interactions, the ideal candidate must have the ability to build and foster positive relationships. As tenure in the position increases, this individual may mentor or supervise others.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide legal support for all aspects of the corporate governance of UnitedHealth Group subsidiaries, including international subsidiaries

  • Oversee subsidiary Board of Director and Audit Committee meetings

  • Support the formation, merger and dissolution of legal entities

  • Provide legal support for interactions with state Insurance Departments

  • Coordinate with foreign legal counsel on governance matters

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Juris Doctorate degree and current admission to the MN bar

  • 3+ years of transactional legal experience

  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to build and maintain rapport and work collaboratively in a team setting with superiors, peers, and subordinates

  • Poise and confidence necessary to deal with senior lawyers, business leaders and Boards of Directors

  • Ability to drive results and balance management of legal risk with meeting goals of business

  • Ability to provide sound, proactive fact-based legal advice

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, results-oriented work environment

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated experience in corporate governance, transactional matters or international legal entities
