The Senior Communications and Publications Specialist for TRICARE role handles all communications submissions related to TRICARE to include: Strategic messaging, editing and consulting and attends meetings related to requests. The Specialist coordinates design and production for these assignments as well as the formal review process by legal/compliance, etc.

The Specialist handle things as simple as a letter and as complex and time-consuming as an 80-page PowerPoint. This individual works closely with M&V Communications staff to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the overall TRICARE communications approach.

This position also manages the government-mandated TRICARE handbook. It must follow strict guidelines and meet strict deadlines. For the handbook, the Specialist must collect the information, identify gaps in the information provided, work with numerous SMEs across all of the subject categories in the handbook; coordinate copy and design edits for the completed documents; and assist with production, posting online; and updates to the handbook each quarter.

The handbook is used by providers as a one-stop reference for everything they need to know when doing business with UHCM&V from claims submissions; to prior authorization requirements; to contact phone numbers; to disease management programs; etc. The Specialists also produces the TRICARE Welcome Kits.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree (communications-related field preferred)

  • Military & Veterans or government communications experience

  • 5+ years of health care experience

  • Proven record of writing performance

  • Editing and proofreading abilities

  • Knowledge of AP Style

  • Experience as a Team Builder/Problem Solver/Proven Interpersonal Skills

  • Strategic thinker

  • Ability to handle and resolve conflicts

  • Experience/Proficiency with Microsoft office suite

  • Multi-tasker

  • Relationship builder/Consensus builder

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Knowledge/Experience with Sharepoint
