Food and Beverage Shift Supervisor

Responsible for supervising and managing the daily operations and staff of the Food and Beverage Operation

Essential Functions:
1. Ensures all Hilton and hotel standards of service are maintained, assisting whenever necessary.
2. Assists in the overall supervision of morning/evening servers and room service.
a. Conducts pre-meal information meetings with am/pm staff in regards to nightly specials, house counts, and guest concerns
b. Assigns opening and closing duties for staff
c. Closely monitors the dining experience to include food and beverage presentation, dining room cleanliness, light settings, table set up, etc.
3. Personally responds to and resolves all guest complaints. Reports all guest complaints to the Food and Beverage Manager.
4. Performs duties of host(ess), cashier, server, busperson and cook when necessary.
5. Ensures proper completion of am/pm side duties before staff is allowed to check out
6. Trains all staff for job competence and ensures that all staff is aware of restaurant and hotel policies and procedures including service standards for restaurant, bar, brand and hotel.
7. Responsible for training, supervising and monitoring of food sanitation, alcohol pouring standards and safety procedures in all areas of the food and beverage operation.
8. Respectfully handles staff queries and problems.
9. Achieves and maintains budgeted covers and revenue.
a. Develops and implements creative strategies to increase revenue.
b. Responsible for developing, implementing and assessing in-house promotions
c. Schedules staff according to budget and forecast
10. Ensures the proper functioning of the point of sale system and credit card interfaces.
11. Assists the Food and Beverage Manager in inventory control and ordering of food, alcoholic beverages and supplies.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager.
13. Adheres to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook

Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in supervisory food service position
- Experience in cash handling and basic accounting

Skills and Abilities:
- Able to stand for 90% of the shift
- Able to lift at least 20 pounds
- Basic computer usage skills
- Be a certified food service handler
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Written and verbal command of the English language
