CORESTAFF services is seeking experienced Warehouse Clerks for a 6 month project in Houston, TX. Our Warehouse Clerks work at client sites and provide skilled records management support in a team setting.

10 Warehouse Clerks will work in a team: 6 will pull order with the help of technicians. 2 will be the prep team, who will move and put boxes together. 2 will be the relocation team, who will put boxes on pallets and move pallets to docks. ALL CLERKS WILL BE CROSS TRAINED ON ALL POSITION. There will be a 1 and a half day long training session which will include a 4 hour training session

Description of Duties

Individuals should be capable of supporting operational activities. This position is focused on safely preparing magnetic tapes from one data center for shipment to another data center.

Responsibilities include:

• Work in a multi-level mezzanine warehouse environment
• Lift and move boxes and pallets, loading carts and pallets, and use carts and pallet jacks to stage and prepare boxes for local truck shipment, operate a gravity conveyor belt
• Secure boxes on pallets and stretch-wrap pallets without injury, damage to data or equipment, or errors
• Assist with preparing shipping inventories, trip records, and verifying transmittals
• Receive shipments and verify receipt of all documented materials
• Process all incoming material orders including, identify barcodes and locations, store items in warehouse, and investigate and resolve all material discrepancies
• Retrieve magnetic tapes from boxes and shelves, read tape labels, box magnetic tapes
• Inspect and maintain all equipment including material handling carts, ladders, pallet jacks, conveyor belt, etc.
• Observe safety procedures and reporting any safety issues
• Perform special projects, e.g., track box and pallet movement, record daily activities, other special requests as directed by supervisor
• Follow standard operating procedures for retrieving and boxing scanned magnetic tapes and preparing them for transfer
• Assemble boxes and any other duties as assigned
• Use proper lifting techniques to load and unload boxes from tables, carts, or trucks and onto designated pallets in the warehouse
• Keep the Team Lead aware of supply volume (i.e. packaging tape, boxes)
• Attend safety meetings, and adhere to company and client safety programs

Qualifications:

• Willingness and ability to cooperate as part of a team and service-oriented approach
• Ability to maintain a professional, pleasant manner when interacting with clients, employees, and coworkers
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift and transport boxes up to 30 lbs.
• Wear proper safety equipment (e.g. steel toe boots, heavy duty gloves)
• Must be able to use a manual Pallet Jack
• Must be comfortable using a gravity conveyer belt (non-automated)

Requirements:

• Background must be a SQUEEKY CLEAN for past 7 years
• Must pass a 15 panel drug screen/breath alcohol test, first our drug test, then a second one before starting the position
• Must sign and adhere to strict confidentiality agreement
• Take the Corestaff Industrial Skills Test

Other relevant information:

• PPE Provided will be: Grip Gloves/Aprons
• PPE REQUIRED but not provided: Steel Toed Boots
• Must take a 1 hour lunch, with two 15 minute breaks
• Dress code is Jeans/Khaki and polo or plain tshirt
• The position is located in the 290/610 area (northwest) and is on a bus line.
• The position will have an onsite cafeteria
• Job is fast paced and non-monotonous
