In this IT  Business Solutions Architect role, you will be responsible for the development, communication and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and applications plan, including the components required to support it and in the integration of corporate and business architecture and applications.


Results-oriented Business Solution Architect will be part of the Business Solutions Architecture practice in a complex and diverse business within the pharmacy benefits and services space. Individual will be accountable for providing Solutions Architecture support for business solutions analysis [including defining business context, business drivers, technology drivers, technology constraints, facilitation and articulation of solution options (with TCO, ROI, benefit alignment and roadmap alignment)] and gaining alignment across a wide variety of stakeholders on the target solutions. Works with Business leaders to identify, propose and influence business solutions. Possesses expertise in the business objectives, processes, and products. Leads solution analysis efforts, affecting multiple IT/Business departments. Acts as a liaison between business & various technologists.


Primary Responsibilities:


Lead Solution Architecture activities for OptumRx projects and represent OptumRx in cross segment projects and programs.


Collaborate with the business to evaluate business goals, identify business problems/needs, and propose solutions using the whole portfolio of IT assets.


Performs impact analysis of making changes affecting multiple application systems or functional domains and develops cost / benefit analysis for each identified solution.


Architect the entire solution across critical architecture domains ? Business/Process, Application/Services, Data/Information, Technology/ Infrastructure/ Operations, Security etc.


Work across business areas, applications, data domains and technologies.


Work across multiple organizations, functions and suppliers.


Ensure solutions meet business needs along with architecturally significant functional and nonfunctional requirements.


Ensure solutions are delivered as designed and be the single owner for the solution defined.


Decompose business programs into an actionable set of activities, to include business process modeling, simulation, and validating the business premise


Ensures solution architectures in their domain adhere to enterprise architecture technical and functional strategies, policies, standards and practices while contributing to broader EA activities.


Supports the Application Subject Matter Experts in development of estimates / validation of estimates.


Supports application testing, implementation, and training activities.


Performs quality review checks on project deliverables.


Mentors lower level peers.


Develops solutions in alignment with OptumRx and UnitedHealthGroup business strategy and enterprise architecture vision, standards & strategy.


Identify technologies or components to use the in the products based on price, performance, service agreements and organization constraints.


Leads proof of concept/prototypes/pilot projects as a subject matter expert and have the ability to gain buy-in on the proposed solutions.


Serve as technical owner and point of contact for Product Functional/Non-Functional specifications and Product Architecture


Proactively seek opportunities to optimize and enhance current technology portfolio, capabilities and processes


Acts as a liaison between business clients and technical staff (e.g., development staff) throughout the development life cycle on complex projects


Stay up to date on current technology trends, solutions and vendors


 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


8 or more years of progressive growth experience preferably across business and IT roles with 4 or more years as a Solutions Architect .


2 or more years of experience leading transformative initiatives in large enterprise organizations working across multiple lines of businesses.


Experience leading product teams and product architecture


Experience with product life-cycle process from conception through development into production.


Demonstrated experience in the development of IT and business Architecture on multiple major solutions


Familiarity with multiple technology platforms, patterns, architecture methodologies and frameworks (ex: Portals/Mobile, SOA, BPM, ECM, MDM, TOGAF, Zachman).


Understanding of IT financial management, Project Management and Operations general principles processes and techniques.


Experience in the PBM/healthcare services or adjacent space


Preferred Qualifications/Assets


Strong J2EE solution skills.


3+ years of experience delivering analysis and analysis models in at least 2 of the following areas Business , Strategy , Organization , Process , Requirements , Applications , Data , Technology


Experience with Business Process Modeling, Business Process Management, and/or Business Process Automation


Hands-on experience with production deployed BPM solutions is preferred


Business Process Re-engineering, Operations, Business and Technology Transformation experience is preferred.
