Time Warner Cable currently seeks a IT Specialist (Servers) for our Media Sales Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Under general supervision, designs a complete and complex framework, system or product. Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibilities. Develops system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provides multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Typically has 4 to 6 years relevant experience.
Essential Job Functions:
- Routine configuration of servers
- Effective system health monitoring of servers and networks
- Racking and wiring of server hardware
- Basic Active Directory Management
- Document network and server hardware
- Perform virtualization desktop management
- Manage WAN acceleration platform
- Configure IT switching equipment
- Develop database architecture
- Act as database administrator for multiple platforms
- Act as liaison with the internal software development group
- Act as liaison with audit and SOX compliance groups
- Interact routinely with 3 rd party vendors for equipment quotes and purchases
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of the technical equipment required for IT servers
- Maintain high level of support to internal & external customers
- Good verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work under deadline pressures
- Travel may be required 10% of the time
Education and Experience:
Extensive experience supporting IT servers with little to no supervision.
Bachelor ' s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
