Construction Defect Claims Adjuster

ManpowerGroup is currently seeking an Construction Defect Claims Adjuster to help support our client's team in Irvine, CA. This is a temporary assignment that will last approximately 2-3 months. The pay rate is $22.50/hr. Job Description: *Under general supervision, handle routine, high frequency claims in a timely manner toward resolution and payment, to include the handling of complex Construction Defect cases dealing with various coverage issues, risk allocation issues, and multi-unit claims *Identify legal issues, direct and manage attorneys in developing alternative settlement strategies or arriving at decisions to go to trial; manage litigated cases though the court system *Negotiate and propose settlements; develop strategies to contain costs *Manage outside consultants, field investigations and expert witnesses; audit and reconcile costs and fees *Resolve coverage issues *Direct and review the claims transaction of assigned staff for quality and effective resolution; ensure customer-focused service; provide input to performance appraisals; identify trends in file handling practices; conduct on the job training *Provide technical direction and serve as a resource on high exposure files and complex coverage issues; monitor legal and legislative activity and advise underwriters on potential risk factors, underwriting decisions and policy documentation *Handle products and completed operations liability at both the Primary and Excess layer of insurance. Requirements: *High School Diploma or GED required *Previous construction defect claims handling experience *Knowledge of claims handling procedures, philosophy, legal concepts, terminology, financial concepts for reserving, & determining losses, negotiation & settlement techniques *Interpersonal & communication skills work effectively in a team environment *Experience with coverage analysis and negotiation skills *Strong organizational skills For additional information, please contact yolanda.corley@manpowergroup.com and in the subject line list the name of the position and its location.
