Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Concrete Building Supply (CBS) is a precast and concrete block manufacturer as well as a “one stop retail shop” for concrete building supplies including precast, concrete masonry units, bagged cement products, pavers, Redi Rock retaining walls and other building supplies.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop quotations and follow up on bids (incl. block, precast, Redi Rock, retail/buy items).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers; respond to inside sales requests from contractors.
  • Key aspect of the role is customer service and technical support with respect to product knowledge; assisting customers in understanding selection and use of materials.
  • The Sales Representative will have direct responsibility for the retail store (product, price, display, promotions) including the retail clerk.
  • Management of inventory and purchasing for all “retail/buy” products (PO generation, ordering, receiving, audits - functions may be carried out by the retail clerk).
  • Promotion and advertising for CBS brands and products will also be included in this roles duties
  • Provide commercial and institutional bid work, including asphalt, concrete and stone. Occasional coverage Saturday mornings is required in retail during the summer.        

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-10 years' experience in general contracting, landscape design or septic system construction.
  • Two year Construction or Civil Engineering Technical Degree.
  • 5 years' managing and supervision of a construction retail operation that includes direct reports.
  • Estimating familiarity with the bid process
  • Bid, specification and drawing review experience
  • Close attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and deliver on multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with General Contractors, Engineers and Customers
