About this job

Job Description:

This position will include package development and design, design verification testing and sealing process validation of medical device packaging in accordance with ISO 11607. Engineer will work cross-functionally with technical direction from Packaging Manager and/or Senior Packaging Engineer in Jacksonville. Position may be extended or become permanent based on department need and/or personal performance.

Job Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Packaging Engineering or other related engineering field from an accredited school is required.
  • 2-4 years medical device/pharmaceutical packaging engineering experience required

Job Requirements:

  • Evaluate various material and design options for device packaging to meet overall product life cycle needs: maintenance of product sterility, environmental, sterilization, distribution and storage requirements
  • Facilitate and/or support evaluations of package systems to ensure compliance with Federal, US and International safety and quality standards
  • Develop package testing protocols, test acceptance criteria, and analyze results
  • Create packaging component specifications and drawings for procurement and inspection of packaging components
  • Facilitate packaging design reviews with cross-functional teams
  • Research, develop and validate packaging process equipment/tooling/fixtures and related documentation to support manufacturing
  • Train manufacturing operators on proper packaging assembly and use of sealing machinery
  • Strong knowledge of FDA and International regulations related to packaging. Understanding of applicable ISO, ISTA and ASTM test standards and methods related to packaging.
