Transportation Supervisor

Our Brooklyn Park Distribution Center, is currently seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee a large fleet of trucks delivering to O’Reilly retail stores.

• Suggest routing so all store deliveries will be made by 8:00 a.m.
• Hire DOT qualified drivers, schedule for optimum departmental performance.
• Insure department stays compliant with all DOT and company regulations.
• Maintain all fleet vehicles to company standards and service schedules.
• Have training procedures in place so that all drivers have a clear understanding of all job requirements.
• Responsible for team member evaluations being written and given in a timely manner.
• Be available to department team members 24 hours per day.
• Insure all department paperwork is complete and submitted to corporate on a daily basis.
• Prepare and or assist with quarterly safety meetings as mandated by department of transportation guidelines.
• Work with other departments to coordinate activities including special deliveries and pickups.
• Communicate with remote drivers at least weekly and meet with remote drivers at least once per quarter.
• Ride with drivers as necessary.
• Prepare department payroll.
• Operate in a safe manner for the benefit of self and others and maintain a watchful eye for unsafe practices and situations.
• Other duties as assigned by the outbound operations manager and distribution center manager.

REQUIRED:

• Management skills.
• Minimum of class A CDL with HazMat endorsement.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and match numerical and alpha characters quickly and accurately.

DESIRED:

• Mechanical ability.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• O'Reilly management training program.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
