About this job

Applicant must possess the ability to care for individuals with mental and physical disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, learning disabilities, incontinence issues, etc. The applicant must be able to provide direct support while ensuring the safety and well-being of the individual. They also must be able to assist in the areas of self-help, activities of daily living, and socialization.
Daily tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Mobility Assistance: help with assistive devices such as a walker and/or wheelchair & transfer assistance
  • Meal Preparation: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
  • Home Helper: assisting with housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep cleanup
  • Personal Care Assistance: bathing, toileting, incontinence care, grooming
  • Social Stimulation: Transporting of Client to activities in the community
  • Reliability and Dependability: Caregiver will be responsible for one Client FULL-TIME Tuesday-Saturday.
  • Physical ability: While some Clients with physical and mental disabilities can get around by themselves, others may need to be transferred in and out of a wheelchair, bath, bed, etc. A smaller adult maybe not be difficult to lift, but carrying and/or transferring an adult can be physically demanding.
  • Respect:  A caregiver should not be patronizing. You must be able to reach out to the person underneath the disability.
  • Ability to communicate in the family's language. You will be working closely with family members and must be able to learn from them to create a wonderful relationship and bond!
  • FEMALE caregivers are preferred.

Additional experience such as CNA, First Aid, LPN, CPR are preferred.
