CAREGiver - Part-time

As a CAREGiver, you provide a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their own homes. You will be expected to be willing and able to provide ALL of the following services to your clients.

Companionship Services

• Conversation and companionship
• Monitor diet and eating
• Assist with walking
• Reading and writing letters
• Assist with apparel selection
• Participate in crafts and games
• Facilitate home maintenance
• Oversee home deliveries
• Check food expiration and freshness dates
• Stimulate mental awareness
• Prepare grocery lists
• Sort and/or read mail
• Monitor TV usage
• Water plants
• Fill pill boxes with pre-dosed medications
• Arrange and remind of appointments
• Provide medication reminders
• Rent and play movies
• Light exercise/encouragement
• Encourage prescribed therapy regimen
• Answer telephone
• Review phone messages
• Clip coupons for shopping
• Gather information
• Mail bills and letters
• Escort on walks
• Obtain newspapers, magazines, books
• Plan visits and trips
• Visit neighbors
• Religious readings and discussions
• Birthday and anniversary reminders
• Maintain Client calendar
• Record family history
• Arrange Client photos
• Maintain Client scrapbook
• Record, file and organize recipes
• Assist with morning and wake-up
• Assist with evening and tuck-in

Home Helper Services

• Dust and polish furniture
• Vacuum
• Meal preparation
• Kitchen clean-up
• Organize closets and drawers
• Light bathroom maintenance
• Make beds and change bed linens
• Polish silverware
• Taking out garbage
• Assist with pet care
• Organize and clean closets
• Laundry and ironing
• Grocery shopping
• General shopping
• Pharmacy shopping
• Drop off/pick up dry cleaning
• Medical and other appointments
• Bank visits
• Religious services
• Beauty/Barber appointments
• Friend and family visits
• Attend club meeting and sporting events
• Attend plays and concerts
• Accompany to lunch or dinner

Personal Services (Training will be provided for these tasks)

• Bathing assistance
• Full Bathing including bed bath
• Dressing assistance
• Eating assistance
• Monitor Allergies or other food limitations
• Grooming/shaving
• Hair Care
• Oral Care (teeth brushing, mouth cleaning, denture care)
• Incontinence Care
• Emptying catheter and colostomy bags
• Emptying and cleaning urinals, bedpans, and bedside commodes
• Personal Hygiene Care
• Mobility assistance: Wheelchair, Cane, Walker, steadying arm.
• Transfer assistance
• Hoyer lift transfers
