Hospital Medical Biller - Full-time / Part-time

This company is a receivable management company for the Healthcare industry. The company offers a range of services, including billing, Medical Assistance eligibility and receivable solutions for hospitals, independent and hospital-based multi-specialty practices, nursing homes, behavioral health facilities, and a variety of consultative services to assist the needs of our healthcare clients

They are currently have an opening for an Accounts Receivable Biller/Follow Up Clerk within the hospital environment.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:
Working with a Practice Management System on a specific client account
Following up with insurance companies, documenting the notes in the system and following up with the claims. This role is a problem solving role to resolve why the claim was not paid.
Logging into work file and handling 30-40 accounts (patient accounts), but processing 50 invoices, because a patient can have multiple invoices.
Making calls throughout the day, the volume varies because it depends on what steps need to be taken to solve the discrepncy.
-Perform research on the account to see why the bill has not be paid.
Handling 50 claims per day


-Candidates should be familiar with coding, but not in terms of actually coding, just knowing the terminology (for example, knowing what a CPT is, the standard knowledge in the procedure codes and tied to that is diagnoses, they need to know about referrals and authorizations and all the mecical verbage and medical billing terminology). They work with all types of insurances, Medicare, Commercial, etc.
