Summary

Retail Operations Manager

The Retail Operations Manager is primarily responsible for the management and development of the entire Retail Selling Organization for an assigned geography. They are responsible for representing the Company and our Clients through the management of retail store coverage, set/project coverage, and executing objectives set forth by Clients and/or Business Development Managers and Dedicated Retail Teams.

The Retail Manager, Field Ops is the first point of contact and will have Headquarter Responsibility for respective Customers in their Region.

The Retail Manager, Field Ops is also responsible for managing all Operational Relationships with Customers in their Region and managing.

Event Execution Team Management

Regularly travel to markets for purpose of, but not limited to; District Manager development, retail/club/event audits and performance reviews.

Overall performance management of District Managers providing direction, guidance, and support where necessary.

Field Operations Management

Drive professional and value oriented relationships with key account Field Regional/District/Market (RM/RVP, DM) retail management to drive positive relationships.

Use reports and presentations to highlight success and/or improvement areas relative to program execution – performance vs. performance objectives, competitive intelligence, key market initiatives, wins, losses, opportunities, and challenges.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Operations Management- preferred or equivalent job-related experience.


Experience
  • 3-5 years of Operations experience.
  • Experience working in an agency, retail, CPG or CE environment.
  • Experience managing full time salaried managers as well as part time associates.

  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to interact at varying management levels/client interface.
  • Strong organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to present effectively to large groups.
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Position Summary

The Retail Operations Manager is primarily responsible for the management and development of the entire Retail Selling Organization for an assigned geography. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Business Development: ability to grow base business and add new business.
  • Standardization and Execution of the Company’s Strategic Direction: ability to outline and implement National policies and programs. Must be able to proactively promote the Company’s Strategic Direction and Vision on a day-to-day basis and assure compliance with all National Programs.
  • Communication/Systems: able to utilize and develop systems for the proper communication of all functions.
  • Customer Team Integration: will partner with Business Managers, Retail, RTLs/ATLs, and all other departments in each region that affect the Account Team(s). Will utilize all elements and resources to meet and exceed team and Client’s needs.
  • Team Performance and Development: will develop people through training and direct organizational and team development initiatives.
  • Client Management: will build excellent Client rapport, provide Client management, and pursue new Client representation and additional business.
  • Budgeting: manage budget for area of responsibility.
  • Operational Excellence and Ownership: will maintain excellent high-performing teams and will be proactive in addressing retail issues.
  • Retail Reporting: working knowledge of company systems including reporting functions.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports

Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience



(Preferred): Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study/Area of Experience: agency, retail, CPG or CE environment

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
