Universal Orlando Security Officers (Parks & CityWalk) monitor the safety and security of our guests and Team Members around the clock, 365 days a year.


Universal Orlando Security Officers (Parks & CityWalk) are responsible for:

  • Working in a variety of locations throughout the Resort, including indoors and outdoors; on-stage and backstage areas. 
  • Performing motor, stationary, and walking patrols; completing visual inspections; observing occurrences in areas being patrolled.
  • Escorting cash drops and money transfers on property.
  • Responding to incidents such as traffic accidents, theft or property damage, disorderly conduct by a guest or Team Member, and following up via written reports.
  • Conducting visual inspections of bags and/or packages.
  • Calling in safety concerns.
  • Directing traffic.
  • Assisting with crowd control during peak attendance periods and special events.
  • Responding to radio calls as needed.
  • Ensuring extraordinary guest service by providing positive interactions with guests and fellow Team Members in a friendly and courteous manner. 
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned. 



To perform the role of a Security Officer (Parks & CityWalk)successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality is a job requirement.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One to three years previous security experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A background check is mandatory and results must meet Universal Orlando’s background check criteria.
  • Florida Class D Security License must be obtained within first 90 days of employment (required). Must have a valid Florida Drivers License.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and Team Members.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.   
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.


The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Security Officer (Parks & CityWalk)job. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly (2/3 or more of time) required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time) required to talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally (up to 1/3 of time) required to sit, taste or smell.
  • The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include:  Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).


The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Security Officer (Parks & CityWalk)job. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, and work in high, precarious places. 
  • While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is moderate
