ASSOCIATE HR BUSINESS PARTNER

Impact

As an Associate HR Business Partner you will work with the team to provide assisted support to Presort Services division of Pitney Bowes. S/he is accountable for understanding business goals and strategies, and assists in translating them into the appropriate talent/HR strategies/tactics ands collaborates with LOB HRBP to ensure those BU needs and opportunities are addressed in a manner consistent with PBI goals and values. The AHRBP also provides support to the HRBP, senior management in the execution of HR deliverables for their assigned lines of business. S/he accomplishes this by working collaboratively with HRBP, HR Core Expertise, HR Business Services, HR Shared Services, other Senior HR leaders, and Business Unit leaders.

Additionally, the AHRBP assists HRBP's in preparing plans, and supporting /auditing compliance with policies relating to all phases of personnel activity. S/he proposes / assists with implementation of policies and programs covering talent acquisition, on-boarding, and development; employee relations; change management/organizational design; diversity; performance management; employee orientation; training; AAP compliance; and employee health and safety.

The Job

Accountabilities
Supports / assists HRBP in implementation of human resource/talent initiatives to achieve business objectives. Work with and through the appropriate resources to create and implement solutions. Areas include:
- Labor strategy
- Employee relations initiatives
- Compensation planning and equity
- Title and organization hierarchy consistency
- Development of communication channels and employee engagement
- HR Access/SAP data integrity/reporting

Supports / assists HRBP in ensuring HR full spectrum of HR services are provided in concert with strategic business objectives:
- Total Rewards, to ensure consistent implementation and application of pay practices, performance management, discretionary compensation decisions, and related communications.
- Strategic Talent Management, to coordinate talent acquisition and sourcing services.
- Learning and Development to provide talent development and educational services.
- Organization Development to provide organization effectiveness/change management consulting.
- Working closely with the Workforce Relations and consults with managers and employees to investigate and resolve employee relations issues through conflict resolution and the ADR process in compliance with corporate policy. Assists in the investigation of sexual harassment and other employee complaints and develops responses to EEOC charges. Work with Employee Relations to develop/interpret policies affecting the business unit.
- HRSS to ensure quality service provided to employees and to monitor and improve systems, transactions, and services.
Assists with direct HR support / guidance to business unit senior level line management.
Supports the HRBP's recommendations, interpretations of Human Resources procedures, controls, policies, and regulations. Assists in the administration of PB human resource policies and procedures to ensure consistency of application and compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations.
Supports / assists with Affirmative Action and Diversity status and recommends proposes and assists implementing initiatives and programs to ensure achievement of diversity objectives and AAP. Reviews, proposes, assists with, action plans for compliance with all applicable Federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to employment including compliance with equal employment opportunity legislation and programs to correct under-representation.
Prepares, reports on HR metrics for financial and operational reviews. Assists in the analysis of metrics identifying potential issues or questionable data and help resolve any issues.
Assists the HRBP, as HR resource for Band F and higher employees regarding hire, compensation, performance, termination and other employment related issues.
Assist HRBP in supporting field and senior management to design and implement compensation plans.
Assist HRBP in employee investigations as needed and in cooperation with field HR Directors and HR Legal as directed.
Assist with BU restructurings meeting legal requirements and are fair and consistently implemented, working with HRSS, HR legal and field HR.
Assist with annual Total Compensation Review and Leadership Review Process to ensure accuracy, timely completion and appropriate follow-up.
Assist Talent Acquisition, HR Business Services in proposing, implementing recruiting strategies to improve time to hire, quality of hire and cost of hire
Provide coaching and counseling for managers and employees on performance management issues.
Perform other related duties similar to the above in scope and function as required.

Scope of Responsibility:
Ensures HR services are provided to employees and clients.
Assists with providing strategic consulting support to business unit management
Position requires travel (up to 20% for some assignments)

Qualification

Business Experience/Educational Background Minimum of (5-7) years in an HR Generalist/COE role with experience that includes employee relations, staffing, organization development, compensation, training, benefits, safety, communications and planning. Advanced knowledge of local, State, and federal legislation affecting human resources management. Experience in negotiating in order to develop and monitor HR Core, Business Services, and HRSS Service Level Agreements. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to present information clearly and in a compelling manner to Senior Management, Managers, and line employees. Ability to conduct research around best practices and industry norms Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to deal fairly and calmly with issues requiring conflict resolution. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer. Considerable knowledge of PC operations, software (word processing and spreadsheet), and SAP HR, Success Factors and other HR Portals. Bachelor's Degree in related field required preferred. Ability to understand the businesses Pitney Bowes is in and the value we contribute to customers and shareholders. Ability to understand, interpret, and explain HR Value-add proposition.
