JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
This job requires the forklift operator to perform the following tasks and should have at least one year experience operating forklift:
To move product from the production floor to stacking room and then to warehouse to await shipment
To perform general labor
To work in a safe manner
To take direction from the Production Supervisor or Production Lead Person to assure procedures are being followed.
Any other task assigned by Production Lead or Supervisor.
Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ITEM % of TIME JOB FUNCTIONS
1. 30% Transfer product from the production floor to the stacking room, stacking room personnel give the inventory personnel which cooler and location the pallet will be placed in, then after tickets have been placed on the pallet it is then moved to the shrink wrapper.
2. 60% Pallets that have been wrapped will then go to the proper cooler and in the correct location that has been assigned to that particular pallet.
3. 10% Keeping the floors and racks clear of debris (broken pallets, plastic wrap, paper and dirt etc.); also to keep the shrink wrappers clean.

POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Internal Contacts:
To communicate with the shipping manager, supervisor, lead person and shipping personnel; also to communicate with the stacking room clerk, production supervisor and personnel.
External Contacts:
N/A
Education Level and Focus:
Requires a high school diploma and basic math skills
Years and Type of Related Experience Required:
Some previous work related skill, knowledge or forklift experience preferred but not required.
Job training employees for this position usually need anywhere from a few months to a year working with experienced employees.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Interpersonal and Communication:
Requires good oral and written communication skills; must have the ability to work independently.
Technical and Analytical:
Must have good hand-eye coordination, must have the ability to perform required task and be able to drive a fork lift.
Administrative and Operations:
Must be reliable, punctual and exercise good safety habits.
Physical Demands:
Requires walking, sitting, standing, the ability to bend, stoop and handle repetitive lifting, the ability to lift 50 lbs on occasion and climbing up and down stairs.
Work Environment:
Exposed to extreme cold/hot temperatures, high noise levels, wet floors.
Equipment used:
Fork lifts, pallet jacks and automatic shrink wrappers.
