Lab Technician - Full-time / Part-time

Aerotek Scientific is recruiting a lab technician for a Medical Device company in Lakewood, CO.

As a technician on the Research and Development team, the candidate will be responsible for assisting in timely and accurate technical and analytical work on set up, execution, data processing and analysis of experiments (mostly with blood).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Performs blood separation testing on a day to day basis.
• Identifies a wide range of trends or problems, including the most complex, and solves or directs their solution and/or interprets and recommends actions.
• Collaborates with engineers or scientists in the design, development, and execution of test protocols and procedures.
• Performs technical, administrative, and logistical responsibilities in indentifying lab or work area needs.
• Provides work direction, trains, and serves as a lead, coach, and mentor to less experienced technicians.
• Develops standards, tools, and methods and provides or writes documentation to a level required by the department.
• Executes protocols and procedures involving known infectious or potentially infectious agents.
• Operates standard laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pH meter, and pipettes).
• Conducts applicable verification and validation programs.

• Maintains, accurately follows, and records protocols/procedures, laboratory quality records/documentation, and test logs.

• Proficiency and knowledge of technology related to their function.
• Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
