As part of our Optum Technology Government Solutions team, you will be responsible for leading a software product engineering team to bring a new software product to market and customize it for clients. 


Specific responsibilities will include: 


  • Collaborating with Product / Delivery teams in understanding product / client requirements and ensuring they are met 
  • Delivering high quality software  per roadmap defined on schedule and on budget by taking ownership of the entire SDLC
  • Driving the use of Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver software predictably
  • Building, leading, mentoring and managing a distributed team of approximately 50 people 
  • Partnering with stakeholders (internal and external to Optum) to ensure alignment around strategy, architecture, tools/methods and plans
  • Driving consensus and decision-making with business, IT and executive management
  • Planning, forecasting, budgeting and allocating resources to meet organizational goals

Requirements

Candidates will possess: 


  • Knowledge of health plan administration solutions (ie, FACETS or similar product)
  • Experiences in environments with both custom software and COTS solutions
  • Proven COTS integration expertise 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of integration layer solutions, including SOA and ETL 
  • 10 + years of years of success operating in a leadership role within large, global, matrixed, complex organizations
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including building and driving high performance software engineering teams of 30 + people
  • Track record of success delivering high quality software solutions on time and on budget using Agile/Scrum methods 
  • Understanding of how technology is used to drive business growth 
  • Exceptional communication skills, evidence by the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of an organization in writing, verbally and via visualizations 
  • Results-oriented individual with strong coaching, decision making, influencing, negotiation, problem solving and situational analysis skills
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions preferred 
  • Knowledge of Medicaid technology solutions desired  
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experiences
