PrideStaff Financial has partnered with our North Dallas client in search of a cost accountant to join their growing team! This is a direct hire position!

The cost accountant will assist the controller in the management of the day-to-day accounting functions of the facility by performing all related Cost Accounting functions using GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.)
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing budget costs to actual production costs; this includes product margin reporting and analytics. Research and explain variances. Analyze actual cost to standards and all manufacturing variances.
  • Must maintain the inventory system with integrity and standardization, makes sure that no orders are place for these raw materials unless it is necessary. Ensure each purchase order is properly tracked finding the appropriate approval signature, account numbers and proof of the receipt of the goods ordered.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries in support of month-end close. Prepare month end analysis of manufacturing productivity & variances. Complete quarterly analysis on excess and obsolete part numbers and materials.
  • Monitor cycle count program to ensure Accounting guidelines are being followed.
  • Analyze capital budgeting requests.
  • Participate in physical inventories.
  • Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management
  • Other assigned projects as needed.


Qualifications Include:
  • College degree in Accounting of Finance
  • 3 years experience with manufacturing cost accounting
  • Current and working knowledge of cost accounting, bills of materials, routers, inventory flow and variance analysis
  • Prior physical or cycle count inventory audit and documentation
  • Must be able to quickly adapt to change with little frustration in a rapid paced environment.
  • Windows XP, Outlook, Internet, Advanced Excel skills required, importing data from outside sources, understand formulas and functions (look-ups, pivot tables, etc)
  • Previous knowledge of manufacturing software
