Home Manager (At-Risk Youth - Howell, NJ)-140003NC Job Management Primary Location United States-NJ-NJHowell Organization Cambridge New Jersey MENTOR is seeking a Home Manager to manage the day to day activities, budgets and schedules for one or more homes. Home Managers ensure all consumers are properly managed and cared for, including implementing programs and services for the consumers. The Home Manager also manages, hires, trains and schedule staff; and coordinates activities and appointments of individuals served and maintains records. Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight of direct care staff providing services to clients.
  • Coordinates the assignment of work of facility staff.
  • Maintains staff schedules for the assigned facility(s).
  • Provides on-call assistance to staff during emergencies and schedules staff to fill shifts as needed.
  • Completes interviews, makes hiring decisions and schedules staff.
  • Manages assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
  • Monitors budgets for assigned homes.
  • Manages activities to ensure financial goals are met. Monitors budget variances and implements corrective action plans as needed.
  • Oversees household activities, housekeeping, and meal preparation for individuals served.
  • Provides oversight to direct care staff with individual’s integration into the community by arranging transportation to recreational and social activities.
  • Coordinates and attends medical appointments of individuals served as required.
  • Monitors the comfort and safety of individuals served while ensuring living environments and program activities are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains accurate records, including records of activities and developmental progress of individuals served.
  • Maintains and purchases all inventory for client and house supplies.
  • Prepares various reports and other correspondence in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications

Professional Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree required from an accredited college or university. Note: Bachelors or Master's in Social Work or Psychology or other Behavioral Sciences or Human Services preferred
  • Must have one to two years of verifiable experience working with at-risk youth or child mental health population
  • Must have staff management and training experience
  • Must have extreme confidence working with challenging behaviors
  • Must have experience with de-escalating situations
  • Must have experience with identifying triggers, safe crisis management and restraints
  • Ability to work flexible schedules
  • Knowledge of Licensing Laws and Regulations to DCP&P Chapter 128

Other Requirements:

  • Must have valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
  • Medication Administration and CPR/FA preferred
  • Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
  • Other education and experience plus licensure as required by state

Note: All hires will be required to attend a two week orientation: Monday thru Friday
