The Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut has embarked on a business diversification strategy and one such area they are focusing on is the development of food and beverage restaurant franchises. They have entered into a multi-unit development agreement with AROOGAS , a rapidly growing and award winning Grille House & Sports Bar, to open 16 AROOGAS franchises in various counties in CT, MA, and all of RI. Thisagreement offers significant career growth potential for dedicated and motivated employees who want to be part of the Mohegan AROOGAS restaurant team. The position below represents a position in the first Mohegan owned AROOGAS franchise which is planned to open in UNCASVILLE, CT in February.


Summary of Position:

The Incumbent in this position cheerfully greets and seats all guests and assists in maintaining the
overall guest flow. He or she also addresses guests on their departure in a manner encouraging them to
return and maintains cleanliness of the entryway and the host/hostess stand.

Essential Duties:

1. Greets guests as they enter, accommodating any special needs.
2. Offers guests Buzztime game tablet, and explains its applications to those unfamiliar.
3. Warmly leads and seats guests when they are assigned a table, accommodating any special needs (boosters, highchairs, disabilities), Asks if it is the guests’ first time to the restaurant and if so, alerts the manager of the guest’s location, and places a red napkin in front of the guest.
4. Courteously distributes menus, roll-ups and introduces the server to guests at the time of the seating.
5. While returning to the host/hostess stand observes any breaking/bussed/open tables
6. Retrieves menus from drop boxes and returns them to the host/hostess stand
7. Advises a manager of any guest complaints.
8. Answers all phone calls directed to the host/hostess in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
9. Calculates the approximate wait time, adding guests to the POS wait list and offering them a pager to alert them when their table is ready, including properly managing guests’ expectations when there is a wait.
10. Thanks guests as they leave and invites them back.
11. Confirms guest reservations for groups of 10 or more at the start of their shift.Host/Hostess Arooga’s
Incumbent must be able to perform “essential duties” with or without reasonable accommodation. “Other duties” may be
reassigned as necessary.
12. Advises a manager of guest complaints.
13. Performs other functions as time permits and as necessary including, but not limited to:

a. Rolling silverware
b. Cleaning entryway
c. Assisting server
d. Cleaning menus by wiping with sanitizer solution

Other Duties:

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education, Experience and Training:

• Six (6) months of customer service experience in a restaurant environment

 

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and exert swift mobility for four hours.
• Must be able to lift and carry 15 pounds

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
