  • We have an opening for a full-time Food SVC Worker position.
  • Location: Novant Health; 1500 Matthews Township Parkway, Matthews, NC 28105. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: 12 hour shifts on a rotating schedule, includes every other weekend and some holidays.

Summary: Plates food, builds meal trays, and serves trays as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Assists with tray line meal service: gathers special items need for meal service, plating meals, assembling meal trays, and delivery and tray retrieval as needed.
  • Assists with preparation of now trays and delivery as needed.
  • Replenishes work stations.
  • Assists with hospitality cart service for patients on nursing units.
  • Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
  • Takes patient menu selections prior to meals as needed and offers alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences.
  • Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
  • Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
  • Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
  • Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
  • Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
  • Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient's rights policy as outlined in the facility's HIPPA policies and procedures.
  • Follows Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations and breaking down patient tray line.
  • Follows facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
  • Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
