This position assists with the integration of customer's and associated revenue from acquisitions and contracts, from initial order intake through revenue confirmation, ensuring full compliance with all company standard operating procedures.
  • Contacts patients via telephone to validate demographic, equipment, insurance and ordering physician resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Verifies patient insurance eligibility and benefits and ensures this information is accurately reflected in patient's account obtaining authorizations from insurance when required.
  • Reviews existing medical necessity information for accuracy and compliance and creates new or revised RX/CMNs as required.
  • Obtains supporting clinical information for medical equipment from appropriate sources needed for order processing or reimbursement.
  • Resolves patient/customer complaints by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective action.
  • Demonstrates professional etiquette and courtesy when interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Notifies supervisor of significant findings or concerns identified during the processing of transition and integration accounts.
  • Ensures compliance to company policies and procedures for all product lines. This includes federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.


Qualifications

  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma required; college education preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, including excellent verbal communication skills with strong call-center or phone-based experience.
  • Demonstrates persuasiveness with patients and physician offices to successfully overcome objections
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations and implement as required by the Company.
  • General understanding of health and related types of insurance coverage, as well as the managed care industry and its operations.
  • General understanding of durable medical equipment industry.
  • Computer knowledge (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) is required.
  • Successful completion of assigned Apria Healthcare Certification Programs.
