Entertainment Tech - Live Camera Operator (Projects)

Have a passion for live entertainment?  Our Live Camera Operators, Entertainment Projects serve as the technical point person for projects or events. Ideal candidates have live camera operating experience as well as projector experience.

Live Camera Operators, Entertainment Projects at Universal Orlando are responsible for:

• Functioning as the discipline specific crew chief assigned to an Entertainment Venue or Event.  Safe watching employees by assisting to manage proper breaks and ensuring lunches are taken by their perspective crews.  Responsible to monitor and enforce all policies and procedures as defined by the Entertainment Department governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
• Facilitating and troubleshooting with accountability for completion of team objectives from Leads/Supervisor.  Expected to accomplish tasks as directed by Lead/Supervisor that supports the team mission with little supervision after direction is given.
• Assisting Technician I with daily maintenance of the Entertainment Venue/Event in order to ensure all Technical equipment is operational and functioning properly.
• Assisting the Technician I in implementing show quality and performance standards as defined by Entertainment Management.
• Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information, which pertains to the technical operation of the assigned entertainment venue/event, to both upper management as well as employees of the venue/event.
• Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

To perform the role of a Live Camera Operator, Entertainment Projects successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
• High school degree or GED is required.
• Technical school is preferred.
• Associate’s degree (AA) is preferred; Bachelor’s degreeis preferred.
• One to three years’ experience within the assigned technical discipline required. 
• Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity (electrical, mechanical, special effects, pyrotechnics) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Will require a valid Florida state driver’s license

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Live Camera Operator, Entertainment Projects job.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

• Lift greater than 25 lbs. or more
• Work on water ways, ponds or water attractions
• Work at heights greater than 4 ft.
• Work with waste batteries
• Work with waste aerosols (spray paints, brake cleaner)

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Live Camera Operator, Entertainment Projects job.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

• Be exposed to noise (example: having to raise voice to communicate to team members nearby)
• Use a motorized company vehicle (excluding carts, or vehicles listed in Equipment Operations above)
• Use an Extendable Boom Forklift (Lull)
• Use a Forklift (sit down, stand-up, or motorized pallet jacks)
• Use a Highreach (Aerial lift)
