Machinist (CNC / Tool and Die)

Manpower, Inc. of SE Michigan is current seeking machinists and tool and die makers in Washtenaw County. We work with premier companies that offer clean, safe work environments! Machinists perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to: * Reading blueprints and working from layouts and dimensions on drawings to perform assigned tasks. * Loading, aligning, and operating machines per drawing instructions. * Operating a variety of machines including, but not limited to, mills, lathes, drills, and automatics. * Utilizing micrometers, calipers, hand tools and other equipment to perform tasks and inspect products. * Monitoring machines during to ensure optimum running and troubleshooting any problems. * Preparing tooling for changeovers and performed machine changeovers. * Weighing ingredients to specific quantities using calibrated scales and balances. * Checking raw materials for quality and quantity and preparing materials to be loaded into machine. * Calibrating and recalibrating machines at the beginning and end of each shift. * Cleaning machines and workspace before and after each shift. * Ensuring regular and preventive maintenance is carried out. Preferred qualifications: * High school diploma or GED. * Ability to read blueprints, schematics, models, and other specifications. * Ability to do repetitive work, stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds. * Good problem-solving skills, understanding when and why machines are not at peak performance and troubleshooting to fix errors and increase output. * Good attention to detail while working with precision equipment. * Good math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. * Good mechanical and technical skills; CAD/CAM knowledge a plus!
