Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Duties: -Closely monitors market trends and compensation and benefit plans to ensure market competitiveness, cost containment, employee engagement and ongoing compliance with government regulations. -Plans and coordinates the implementation of various compensation and employee benefit programs so they are designed to meet individual company objectives. Current programs consist of-medical, dental and life insurances, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) and pension plans. -Manages compensation and benefits programs by monitoring cost, negotiating contracts and approving the payments of benefits and administration expenses while staying within established budget constraints. Works with consultants, insurance carriers, actuaries, trustee, and investment managers to develop relationships and ensure they are utilized extensively. -Actively participates in the review of the 401(k) and pension plans trustees and investment management in conjunction with the Finance Department. -Designs, recommends and implements severance packages as necessitated by changes in organization design. Works with legal counsel to appropriately document packages to minimize risk of litigation. -Ensures compliance with governmental regulations and reporting requirements are met for compensation and benefits related activities. Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field with 7-10 years of experience in compensation and benefits management. -In depth knowledge of all phases of employee compensation, performance appraisal, benefit design and administration, and health care utilization is necessary. -Must be familiar with government regulations affecting employee compensation and benefits. -Excellent communications skills as well as interpersonal human relations and supervisory skills are essential to this position.
