The Enterprise Network Planning Supervisor develops volume, flow and network design plans in support of Enterprise Network Planning activity.  The position is responsible for providing data for air and surface network planning and participating in the development of transportation planning models.  She/he will also manage the proof of concept, pilot testing, and implementation of proven planning models.  This position evaluates strategic transportation network opportunities to determine best alternatives for the organization. She/he conducts network analyses summarizing changes in cost, service, and volume levels to determine impacts of various scenarios on transportation networks.

The Enterprise Network Planning position requires strong analytical and problem solving skill set and basic programming expertise in object oriented programming languages (e.g., C#). He/She conducts alternative analysis and makes solution recommendations. This position requires strong organization and project management skills. He/She must be able to communicate plans and information in a concise and effective manner, in both verbal and written form.

Other Duties:

  • Develop proactive and analytically driven network planning processes to improve quality of planning and operational efficiency
  • Use various corporate planning and modeling tools to develop network designs, review and verify costs, and conduct transportation network alternative scenarios
  • Extract and validate volume and schedule information from various sources
  • Analyze large amounts of raw data and produce workable files that will be used in the modeling process
  • Serves as liaison for transportation data management to include data set validation, data repository visibility, and quality utilizing analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Access, SQL and VBA)
  • Coordinates enterprise-wide programs to ensure proper alignment of products, systems, technology, and geographies for support of overall organizational goals
  • Coordinate with operations to implement transportation network plans
  • Maintain consistent and thorough communications with manager and other stakeholders
  • Collaborates with UPS stakeholders to troubleshoot system, operational, and service inefficiencies and to create planned solutions that result in improved network performance

  • Describes the general impact of requirements, problems, or inefficiencies on other parts of the operation or processes; conducts basic analyses and identifies issues impacting the accuracy of data analysis

Minimum Qualifiers

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management-Preferred
  • Master’s Degree- Preferred
