UnitedHealthcare Clinical Services has an opening for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our elite team within the newly created position.

 The Senior Pharmacy Technician performs various duties related to the fulfillment of Prescription orders. Interprets Physicians' prescriptions and creates order, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer system, and verifies whether order is reimbursable. The pharmacy technician is also responsible for building prior authorization cases over the phone or through faxes sent in by the physicians.  Pharmacy Technicians must have a current Texas State license and National certification without restrictions based on regulatory requirements of work site.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Enter prescriptions and verify appropriate information.

  • Contact Patients, Pharmacists and Doctor's Offices to resolve Claims issues.

  • Process prescriptions (from Intake to Order completion).

  • Resolve Customer issues, ensuring accurate information is provided.

  • Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance record

  • Active Pharmacy Technician Certification within the State of Texas

  • Extensive work experience within own function.

  • Work is frequently completed without established procedures.

  • Works independently.

  • May act as a resource for others.

  • May coordinate others' activities.

Requirements

Requirements:



  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Current Pharmacy Technician License with Kansas State Board

  • Current basic proficiency with Microsoft Word (documentation) and Excel (sorting, filtering and entering data.

  • 2+ years of experience in Retail and/or a Hospital or Managed Care setting. 

  • Customer Service experience.

  • Available to work Mon-Fri 8am to 4:30pm

Assets:



  • Bilingual or multilingual (Spanish and English) language fluency.

  • Call Center experience.

  • Prior Authorization experience.

  • Experience with Claims Processing systems.

  • Pharmacy software experience.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:



  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitor.

  • Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activity.
