Youth Mentor (After School) - Part-time

ABLE Residential & Community Options is community reintegration program in Manitowoc County offering a variety of year-round programs and services to youth and young adults with special needs since 2009. From summer camps and after school activities to in home supports, ABLE is making a difference in the lives of it's participants and families while giving employees a rewarding team orientated atmosphere to work in. Wages are based on experience and service needs/service location of the individual child. Services are offered throughout all of Manitowoc County. Regular performance evaluations offer opportunities for additional compensation potential. Part-Time, 10 to 20 Hours Per Week During the general school year, most services take place between 230p and 730p, however hours may fluctuate due to child needs. Duties and Responsibilities of the Job: ~ Child Care, Welfare, Safety and Security ~ Teamwork ~ Promote Independence ~ Community Integration ~ Behavior Assessment, Monitoring, Modification ~ Medication Management ~ Crisis Intervention ~ Transportation ~ Communication ~ Program Development *** Some children and young adults may exhibit severe behavioral challenges with histories of physical aggression, property destruction or self-injurious behavior. Please be aware that services and trainings are in place to cater to the needs of each individual participant and our employees. Experience / Qualifications: * Must be able to pass caregiver background check * Must have access to reliable vehicle and vehicle insurance coverage * Positive reference checks required. * Experience supporting youth or young adults with special needs is desirable. Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Desired Professional Licenses / Certifications: No Licenses or Certifications Requested Vehicle: Desired, Mileage reimbursement available. Drivers License: Type: Class D - Regular (Auto, Light Truck, Moped) Required Age: 16 or older Required
