Systems Administrator

Discover Home Loans is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our Irvine team! The Systems Administrator deals with the overall health of the systems, servers, exchange, virtualization environment, etc.

The Systems Administrator is responsible, as member of a team for the windows domain infrastructure / active directory infrastructure and the primary entities on that domain. They are responsible for the design, deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, performance, stability, availability, security, recoverability of ALL Discover Home Loans applications and servers. This includes but not limited to: networking technologies, application servers, load balancers, firewalls, blade technologies, SAN technologies, Citrix, databases, etc.

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• The administration and operational health of all internal DHL servers, applications and network infrastructure.
• Responsible for the Active Directory infrastructure, include group policy, patch management, AD entities, etc.
• Functions as an exchange administrator. Responsible for the exchange infrastructure, performance, recoverability, troubleshooting, etc. Creates & manages user accounts, distribution groups, mailboxes, mail properties, journaling, archiving, etc.
• Functions as a Tier 1 internal support for 3rd party applications: accounting, title and escrow, secondary, imaging, etc. Will directly engage 3rd party vendors during troubleshooting. Recommends new software purchases. Installs all 3rd party applications.
• Functions as a Network Administrator. Working in conjunction with Security resources, will be responsible for the design, building, monitoring and availability of the network.
• Functions as a Citrix Administrator. Responsible for supporting DHL Citrix environment which is responsible for rendering production applications to the business in Louisville, KY. Responsible for the performance and stability of the site. Escalates issues to the vendor as necessary.
• Deploys and patches new versions of the Citrix environment. Responsible for deploying internal code modifications to the Citrix farm in conjunction with code deployments through the SDLC.
• Functions as Virtualization Administration. 95% of the Discover Home Loans application infrastructure is virtualized. Responsible for creating new virtualization instances as necessary to support technology advancements and the business needs.

Qualifications

Skills Required:

• Bachelor Degree in a related field strongly preferred
• 3+ years’ experience working as a systems analyst
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to understand the networking needs and issues of users
• Networking skills should include solid understanding of TCPIP, EIGRP, BGP, Basic network switching Technologies
• Solid knowledge of applications running on the servers, this includes but not limited to: VMware Enterprise, Exchange Server, Citrix Server, anti-virus software technologies, MS SCCM, SolarWinds NPM, SAM, in-house developed applications, websense proxy, DLP, device lock, Laserfiche, accounting, escrow and title
