  • We have an opening for 5 part-time Food SVC Worker positionS.
  • Location: 2 Bernardine Drive, Newport News, VA 23602. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday. AM shift is 6:00AM- 2:00PM OR PM shift 2:00PM- 8:30PM. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Requirement: Must have previous cook and/or food-service experience.

Summary:  Responsible for performing a variety of residents meals service that may include tray assembly, distribution and service, general sanitation, cleaning and use of equipments and pantries.

 

  • Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations.
  • Drive the food service truck to transport food
  • Accurately plates and serve the food according to residents menu on tray tickets.
  • Takes and monitors food temperatures throughout the patient tray assembly process. Reports any discrepancies to their supervisor immediately.
  • Communicates any patient related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner following departmental procedures.
  • Inventories, records, and delivers par stock supplies to identified units.
  • Maintains, cleans and monitors food-storage temperatures in resident-care pantries as necessary.
  • Operates and cleans equipment after each use and in compliance with the master cleaning schedule.    
  • Transports garbage and recyclable materials to assigned areas.
  • Cleans and stocks assigned work area.
  • Possesses appropriate food-item and ingredient knowledge and is able to effectively communicate possible allergens.
  • Contributes to residents satisfaction goals by providing quality service.    
  • Performs other duties as necessary.
