Be apart of the Magic at Universal Orlandoâ Resort! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ Attractions Attendants guide our guests as they jump into the action of the movies and live the adventure. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Attractions Attendant can help make this exciting new area come to life for our guests, all while having an unforgettable experience of their own.


The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Attractions Attendants at Universal Orlando are responsible for:

  • Enthusiastically welcoming guests as they approach the attraction.
  • Screening guests for appropriate attire, requisite height, food and beverage items, and special access information.
  • Maintaining orderly queues by setting up and removing stanchions, ropes, and poles to appropriately configure the length of the queue; and monitoring and measuring attraction wait times.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment, monitoring immediate area for trash, and assisting in trash removal as needed.
  • Loading and unloading attractions by checking ride restraints and lap bars.
  • Providing safety instructions and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Operating state-of-the-art ride systems and control consoles, along with dispatching ride vehicles and watching the safe operation of the attraction via monitors.
  • Delivering narrations by speaking in front of large groups of guests when required, and employing words, phrases, and props that evoke the storyline of the attraction. 
  • Assisting in the evacuation of the rides and shows in the case of a downtime.
  • Providing audience control both indoors and outdoors. 
  • Upholding our guest service standards and interacting positively with guests in a friendly and courteous manner. 
  • Select Attractions Attendants may be required to rack and clean 3D glasses and/or wear mandatory wardrobe accessories such as ties, hats, and gloves.  While on the job, individuals may encounter many special effects such as strobe lights, fog effects, pyrotechnics, small/confined spaces, dark locations, loud noises, heights greater than 4 ft and/or motion simulators.
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned.



To perform the role of an The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ Attractions Attendant successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High school degree or GED is preferred.
  • 0 to 1 year operations experience preferred.  Ride and show experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Must be able to communicate via phone, intercom, radio and control panel.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. 
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.


The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Attractions Attendant job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly (2/3 or more of time) required to stand, walk, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands or arms; frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time) required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally (up to 1/3 of time) required to sit, climb or balance.
  • The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This job requires repetitive motion (extended reaching, pushing/pulling of lap bars with use of arms and hands, bending, twisting 30X’s per hour).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include:  Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships). Must be able to distinguish hand signals at a distance of up to 50 ft. 


The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Attractions Attendant job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions; frequently exposed to vibration; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), work in high precarious places; work on waterways, ponds or water attractions; exposed to bodily fluids (blood, vomit, etc); work with pressure washers.
  • The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and operate ride vehicles and moving machinery. Regularly required to ride the attraction/ride to ensure show quality and that special effects are in the proper working order including: lighting, sound, animatronics, and general maintenance. 
  • While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is loud.
  • The individual is responsible for evacuating the attraction/ride and assisting guests through various evacuation methods, including: extreme heights, waterways, various types of platforms, stairs or ladders, and other acceptable evacuation methods.
