Essential Job Functions:
Our VDI aware Desktop Engineers are responsible for providing daily technical leadership for customers of our NaviCloud DaaS platform
You will be responsible for participation in regularly scheduled status/engineering conference calls, responding to trouble tickets in an expedient manner, providing clear and informative status entries, resolution and quality assurance, and confirmed acceptance by the customer. You will work to identify the root cause of any customer issue and strive to incorporate solutions that are correct, with zero rework. Provide leadership and mentoring pertaining to customer relations, technical expertise, effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Designing, installing, engineering and supporting Microsoft Active Directory, GPO, DNS, and DHCP services. Designing, installing, engineering and supporting desktop applications that run on Windows Desktop Operating Systems, specifically Win7 and Win8. Acting as a technical project lead in a VDI/Desktop Engineering environment.
As a VDI aware Desktop Engineer you will be in charge of maintaining multiple simultaneous customer projects.
Supporting desktop virtualization products such as Desktone, Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, VMware View, and Microsoft RDS Documenting of process and procedures with an eye to streamlining operations.
Assist the operations team with general infrastructure tasks, such as configuring server, configuring network storage systems, and install server virtualization software. production environment.

Requirements
The Senior Desktop Engineer must have experience working in a VDI/DaaS implementation project environment. The Engineer should be versed in virtual desktop design, implementation, customization, project management, daily life-cycle maintenance best-practices, and have the ability to patiently assist end customers plan and execute their onboarding to NaviSite.
Experience with with SCCM, package building and deployment, and power shell scripting. Experience with VMware View is a must. Familiar with EMC or Netapp or IBM XIV . Experience with DNS, DHCP, SCCM, Bitlocker/Bit9, Antivirus preferred. Hardware: HP Servers (DL, ML Class servers), HP Storages (such as EVA, D, P and MSAs). Strong L2 switching experience; comfortable with VLANs Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols Crash Dump Analysis Monitoring performance, raising concerns related to performance and resolving OS related Performance Issues by OS tuning and making hardware scaling recommendations. Basic backup Administration such as Evault, Avamar and HP Data Protector Monitoring Tools such as Nagios, BMC Patrol and native SNMP Agents. Helpful to have experience with maintaining Linux / Windows virtualized servers. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
