Requirements:

1 + year in medical/healthcare setting scheduling Appointments for patients
Previous customer service/call center experience is a plus
Medical Terminolgy knowledge
Ability to handle multiple phone lines with heavy call volume
Ability to operate computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone
Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment
Must be able to stay focused and concentrate under normal or heavy distractions
Must be able to work well under pressure and or stressful conditions
Must possess the ability to manage change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately
Demonstrates reliability and abides by the company attendance policy

Summary:


The Scheduling Coordinator will be supporting a major Hospital from a Central Scheduling Unit in scheduling appointments for all of their locations.

The Scheduler will take calls from patients looking to schedule outpatient/inpatient procedures for multilple units.

Will be required to schedule and confirm patient appointments and make any changes as necessary. Must be able to manage appointment flow as necessary.

Call volume is 60-150 calls per day (depending on the season).

Candidate will enter in patient demographics, listen to and understand patients medical condition so as to schedule them with the appropriate specialist, schedule them in with the facility, and enter in insurance information and diagnostic codes of the condition.

Work Environment:

Call center environment, sits about 30-40 people in this department.
High volume fast paced center. All candidates must be able to be in their seat on time each day.
