Waitpersons (Experience Required) at Universal Orlando are responsible for:
- Ensuring that our guests receive prompt, friendly and personalized service.
- Offering suggestions through knowledge of food and beverage items and ingredients.
- Answering questions and accommodating special requests.
- Handling complaints and/or soliciting management assistance as needed.
- Maintaining organized and clean service areas.
- Ensuring adherence to Florida State Liquor Statutes.
- Removing dishes and glasses from the table.
- Following established cash handling procedures.
- Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
To perform the role of a Waitperson (Experience Required) successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality is a job requirement.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One or more years serving experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Individuals must be eighteen years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
